The Richland Springs Report

After recruiting a little help, Russ and I were able to put up my eight-foot design boards in the old house. Those two boards will allow me to put up my quilt pieces and judge which piece goes where. It took quite a while to get it done, but I’m so happy with the finished result. My old house is not for anyone. It’s over 100 years old, has one plug, has no air, has lots of dirt that falls from the ceiling, but I love it. I am the only one who loves it.

The consensus in the family is that it should be bulldozed. Call me silly, but I don’t think all that history should be destroyed. I’m keeping it alive as long as I can.

The men’s prayer breakfast had a great turnout of 23 men. The guest speaker was Mike Phelan.

The first Kid’s Church meeting had a super 27 kids join the volunteers at the First Baptist Church.

I see many programs asking for prayers for our country and the upcoming elections. It seems as if we have been campaigning for years. I will say this again. If you are planning to vote for the presidential candidates, the race is 50/50. I suggest you examine the party platforms, see which one aligns with your beliefs and get out and vote. Please don’t stay home and say you hate both major candidates. Check the platforms and vote.

We have another busy week for our Coyote athletes. Tuesday, varsity volleyball will be played at Evant. On Wednesday, are the three church services: FCA in the morning, Kid’s Church at First Baptist from 4-5:30 p.m., and Youth Services at Shiloh starting at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, junior varsity football will play San Juan Diego Catholic School. On Friday, our varsity boys will play at Burkville; cross country will compete at McNeil High School. On Saturday, our varsity volleyball girls will compete at DeLeon.

All classes are preparing for the Fall Festival coming up in October. Dee Crump, from Adorabella Designs, is planning a fall wreath class Thursday, September 26th, at 4:30 p.m. There are only seven places available. The cost for the class is $15.00. Contact Chrissy’s Plants for details. I have my spring wreath proudly hung in my old house. I’ll have to make a fall wreath.

Please pray for our country, for the wars around the world, for our open border, for our elections and for rain. We have many sick and injured people in our community. Pray for our churches.

All of them need people to attend regularly and participate in church programs. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families.
