Coyotes - victors over St. Joseph, 62-5

Promise in the 2024 season continued for the Richland Springs Coyotes last Friday, September 6th, in their 62 - 15 victory over Bryan St. Joseph. The Coyotes had a total of 371 offensive yards, 270 rushing and 101 passing, with zero turnovers against the Eagle’s defense. This makes the Coyotes 2-0 in the pre-district season.

Billy Perry (#17) led the Coyotes with 130 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, a 3-0 pass completion, 101 passing yards, and a touchdown pass. Hutton Rogers (#9) caught two passes for 79 yards and a touchdown, and had a 45 yard rushing touchdown. Cohen Ethridge (#13) made up 50 of the Coyote rushing yards and a touchdown, while Ethan Deeds (#15) added another 45 yards and two scores. Hudson Tharp (#12) also caught a 22-yard pass for the Coyotes and added to the defensive strike put up against the Eagles. Defensively, Rush Norris (#3) had three total tackles, one for a loss. Perry led defensively, with five tackles, along with a sack and a safety. He also forced the Eagle’s only turnover of the game.

The Coyote’s 2024 season continues as both the junior high and varsity teams will take on the Nueces Canyon Panthers on Friday, September 13th. The JH game will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the varsity game will follow at the Floyd Collins Field in Camp Wood, Texas.
