The Bend News

Greetings from The Bend!

I hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. This week from the Methodist Church: On October 6th at two o’clock, there will be a celebration of life held for Raymond Hicks at the Methodist campground at Chappel.

Dean Brister just started his first semester at MCC in Waco. He’s majoring in business management. He took a tour of the campus, and he did four hours of freshman orientation and loves it!

Barefoot’s camp and RV park had a full park for Labor Day weekend! Lots of RVs and a lot of people came out for day passes. The recent rain has the river flowing with lots of catfish being caught. They are expecting a large crowd for Columbus Day. Don’t forget that October 25th 26th is the last weekend before Barefoot closes for the season. They are closing October 27th.

Another thing to note is that Sulphur Springs camp will be closed for the season October 27th - January 3rd. Make your reservations today!

Just a few weeks until the monthly community meetings start up again. September 21st is the first meeting of the year, we will be planning the fish fry that will take place on October 19th.
