Lenny's Life Lessons

Howdy, dearest San Saba loved ones! We hope each of you are doing well and your life has been filled with interesting stories. Mom has often equated day to day living with writing her own chapters in life. I usually hide a smile because with mom, it is more like writing a comedy routine!

I am not sure if you guys have noticed, but we have been invaded…crickets and grasshoppers have taken over! Mom comes inside with a grasshopper riding in her hair or on her shirt; she suddenly realizes it and hops around as if she is one! Where ever it lands, I take over, and the real insanity ensues! Mom goes to retrieve a broom, I am bouncing off things to get the grasshopper, and the grasshopper is wondering what insane world it has entered.

Mom tells everyone I am a baby and all because I love to cradle in her arm on my back to fall asleep or just stare at her. I suppose in some ways, I am a baby. I am incapable of taking care of myself. I do not know how to prepare my own food. Heck, I cannot even open the fridge, and I would need a ladder to let myself out the door! I don’t mind being a baby, not really. There are benefits. A baby usually gets all a mom’s attention and is spoiled rotten! Um yeah, I say if you have all the cards…play your hand like a pro!!

The neighborhood had a lonely feel this past week because of the silence of school starting. I so enjoy lying out on the porch listening to the voices of children at play. Sometimes I even imagine myself running and playing with them. Mom plays, but pretty much the only thing that runs on her is her nose in allergy season!

Well, my darling San Saba friends, I smell a breakfast of boiled chicken breast calling my name! Mom and I love and appreciate each of you so very much! Have a beautiful week until we speak again!
