The San Saba Rodeo & Livestock Association is excited to announce this year’s annual UPRA-CPRA sanctioned rodeo produced by Johnny Hoyle’s Cadillac Rodeo Co. Performances will begin at 8:00 each night. Professional rodeo contestants will be competing in the traditional events.
Mutton Bustin’ competition will be during the performance as well. Children 8 years old and under 80 lbs are invited to compete for prizes. This year, there will be an entry fee of $5 for each child entering the Mutton Bustin’. There is a limited number depending on how many sheep the contractor brings, so sign up early. There will be a table near the announcer’s stand.
Once again, we are very fortunate to have the legendary rodeo clown, Leon Coffee coming to entertain fans. Leon has become an icon of the San Saba Rodeo in recent years.
A calf scramble will be held during the performance. Children 10 years old and under are encouraged to participate. Bicycles donated by Capital Farm Credit will be awarded to winners each night. The members of the rodeo association truly appreciate this kind gesture!
The Texas Spirit Riders of Winnsboro, Texas, will be performing Friday and Saturday night with their high energy choreo-graphed maneuvers on horseback. Their motto is to “Look good. Ride Fast. Dazzle the crowd.”
The San Saba County Young Farmers will be providing the concessions with a delicious menu and treats. Their proceeds go to helping the annual livestock show for the youth of San Saba County. Please help support their efforts.
The county team roping will be on Wednesday night, August 15, and includes competitors from San Saba and all adjoining counties. Contact Morgan Gilger for further information @ 325 372-8654.
The rodeo parade will be on Saturday morning at 10:00. We would like to encourage local participation of exhibitors, horseback riders and parade spectators. This is a great way to advertise your business and have loads of fun. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories. Please contact Mahaila Gilger for information @325 372-1701. There will be a dance immediately following the Saturday night rodeo featuring Triple Shot. Your rodeo ticket will also be admission to their performance. This event is sponsored by Hoffpauir Ranch and Supply.
