The Schreiner University Nursing Program is offering its Mountaineer Immersion Nursing Summer Camp in Kerrville from June 17-20 for students entering 9th grade to students entering college.
The camp will take place on the Schreiner University campus, 2100 Memorial Blvd. Kerrville, TX. Cost per student is $300 and includes instruction, all meals, housing, supplies, and “swag.” Signup deadline is June 15.
During the four-day camp, nursing faculty will guide campers in:
Skills training
Simulation labs for assessing patients and vital signs
Mentoring
Staged disaster drills
Tours of local hospitals
And many other fun, educational activities
The daily schedule runs:
Monday–Check-in and team building
Tuesday–Meet Nursing Program faculty and students, Hands-on Skills Lab Activities
Wednesday–Stop the Bleed, CPR, First Aid Course/Certification; Interactive Learning Lab
Thursday–Disaster Drill with local health care providers, Tour of Peterson Health Care
