This year our world has been plagued by wars, threats, and rumors of more wars at any minute. Sadly, untold numbers killed and millions fleeing for their lives. Not counting floods and droughts besides all kinds of problems, difficulties, sickness with family, friends or loved ones.
Remember, we are not without hope because of a great event that took place many years ago.
Some shepherds were camped out with their flocks when suddenly they were surrounded by a bright light, and an angel stood before them. The angel told them not to fear that he had good news for them and also for the whole world.
That day someone very special had been born, and He was to be the Savior of the world. Luke 2:8-14 8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” He is Christ the Lord.
He was also called Immanuel which means, “God with us.” Matthew 1:23 - “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” Many prophecies were made about Him in the Bible.
• He can bring peace to the World. Isaiah 9:6, 7 - For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
• He is called the anointed one. Psalm 2:2 - The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
• And one of my favorites, John 1:29 - “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” Later, there were some wise men who came and worshipped Him. Matthew 2:1, 2 - Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men[a] from the east came to Jerusalem, Let us try and be like those wise men this Christmas season and Worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. Revelation 19:16 - On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
And enjoy some special time with our loved ones.
