Richland Springs Coyotes triumph over Olfen Mustangs

Gaining momentum as the season progresses, the Richland Springs Coyotes triumphed over the Olfen Mustangs this past Friday, September 1st, with a final score of 51 to 6. This second 45-point victory was made possible with three rushing touchdowns, two passing touchdowns, and another two defensive touchdowns.

Seniors, Troy Shelton and Jayden Sutherland, opened the game with a 37-yard touchdown pass from Shelton to Sutherland. Billy Perry followed this up with a 13-yard scoring pass to Hutton Rogers and his own 15-yard touchdown scamper to bring the score to 24-0. Rush Norris and Clayton Meador were quick on their respective fumble recoveries, securing another touchdown each for the Coyotes. The two continued their touchdown drives as the clock ran for the duration of the second quarter, allowing enough time for Meador to get a 4-yard touchdown run and Norris finishing out the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown carry.

The Coyotes take on the Lometa Hornets next week for their third consecutive home game. Lometa took home wins against both Gorman and Blum this season, matching the 2-0 record of the Coyotes. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. on September 8th, at the Coyote Nation Field.
