Lenny's Life Lessons

Hello, sweet San Saba loves; sometimes no matter how pure and loving your heart, life puts obstacles in your path, throws you a curve ball! Mom and I had such an experience with a young Uber driver this past week on a return trip home from shopping. Now, I need to explain - mom is charged over $20 dollars plus automatic tip for a one-way for a trip less than 10 miles down the road! Well, this twentysomething year old man sat in his air conditioned front seat while poor mom loaded me, and $200 dollars worth of groceries into his car in 100 plus temperatures! Mom kind of laughed, struggling to breathe, and said… “This is the first time in over a year I have been riding with Uber when my driver did not even offer to help me.” Now, by no means was mom casting stones at the young man, just making a casual observation; but oh man, he picked up an attitude bazooka and aimed it at her head! Besides many rude, disparaging, and horrid things he said to my mom, twice in the short trip home, he threatened to pull over and dump us on the street! Um, all I can say is - do you have room for two more in San Saba as I am about done with rude!!

I had to go the vet ER, and please feel very sorry for me because they made me cry! Yep, they said I was dehydrated from throwing up and put this huge needle in me that made me yelp, and I am not talking about the review site!! To add insult to injury, they gave me three more shots after that and gave mom an entire sack of pills and made her pay money for my torture!!

I saw mom grieve dad this week, I mean really grieve his loss. When we went shopping, she bought a Willie Nelson double album, and as she listened to the song, “You Were Always On My Mind.” I watched her fall apart! Truth is truth; dad was not always kind, sometimes downright mean. But vows are vows, and mom kept hers. Through enormous tears, she looked at me and said… “See, Lenny, this is why I listen to my crazy music like Nirvana; it makes me dance in the living room, not cry on the couch! I always told dad country music was cry in your beer music; does unsweetened tea count?”

I hope you have a beautiful week, sweet San Saba loves. Mom and I will be right here loving you, wishing you happiness, good news and shade! We love you to chicken bits!!
