Lenny's Life Lessons

Hello, San Saba loves, and how in the world have you have been since last we talked? I specifically used the word 'world' because I discovered just how small this world can be, and I am going to share that story with you as well as all our my normal life happenings.

Mom and I decided we should bring a bit of San Saba into our lives so we invited Kristian McCoury out for an evening on the Kemah Boardwalk. Kristian lives in our area now, and mom said when she first met the family, he was celebrating his 10th birthday. He is 26 years old now! The Kemah Boardwalk on a Saturday night is like a giant theme park, inside a crowded city full of places to eat, things to see, boat marinas, live music, and well - magic!

We treated Kristian to dinner at an incredible restaurant called The Aquarium; and yes, it is a multiple-floor place with tanks of live fish! We had to wait quite some time for a table, and I just have to say, children should come with a volume control! When they seated us, a gentleman at the next table began petting me. He commented that I had very expressive eyes, and mom said, “He is a very expressive dachshund; he writes for the San Saba paper.” Well, guess what? The man and his friend got so excited because for years they had a deer lease in San Saba! They spent the evening talking about all the little shops and places they so loved in the town! It was a truly lovely evening!

Mom and I are beginning a new life, but different never need be frightening, just a new opportunity. Mom and I feel such a sweet connection to each of you. I know I have never met you, but I do not have to know you to be your friend, to care, for you to matter to me. You simply have to be you. We love you to chicken bits!
