Tree Care Program

Mills County AgriLife Extension is excited to collaborate with the Texas Botanical Gardens in Goldthwaite to offer a Tree Care program where we will be bringing in experts and partners from the Texas Forest Service. Over the last couple of years our trees have gone through several stressful situations. These have included multiple hard winter freezes, hailstorms, prolonged drought, and extreme temperatures. This has led them to be more susceptible to insects and fungal diseases, and for some of our oaks it can make them more susceptible to oak wilt. Unfortunately, this means we have also lost some desirable trees in our home landscape areas. Do you want to know how to best manage your stressed trees? What about managing oak wilt? Or maybe you are interested in learning what some of the best trees to replace them with are? Come join us on Tuesday, June 27th, at 9:00 a.m. at the Texas Botanical Gardens Pavilion to learn all you can about trees!

We have several options for you to register for the program. Email us at t-guthrie@tamu.edu, or you can call the Mills County Extension Office at 325-6482650 to register for the program.
