San Saba Rotary Club to award $12,000 in scholarships at the Annual Honor Student Banquet

The local Rotary Club of San Saba will hold its 41st annual Honor Student Banquet to recognize academically high-achieving students from Cherokee, Richland Springs, and San Saba ISDs. All recognized students and their parents will be invited to attend May18, 2023 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the San Saba Civic Center.

This year's banquet speaker will be State Board of Education Representative, Tom Maynard. Tom Maynard has been actively engaged in education as a parent, teacher, school board trustee and administrator for more than 20 years. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Texas FFA (Future Farmers of America) Association, the nation's largest state FFA association with an active membership of more than 84,000 students on more than 1000 Texas campuses.

Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 111 years, Rotary’s people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.

The Annual Honor Student Banquet is San Saba Rotary’s signature event of the year, and we look forward to honoring San Saba county's best and brightest students. This year, we plan to award $12,000.00 in scholarships, thanks to the many sponsors of our annual Golf Tournament held in the fall.
