The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has secured ownership of a historical Texas landmark, the Alamo Cenotaph!
For over 80 years, the Alamo Cenotaph monument has stood as a testament to the sacrifice made by the 189 defenders who died protecting the Alamo from the Mexican Army.
But after so many decades, it has become necessary to make repairs and strengthen the landmark's original construction.
When discussions began about conducting a restoration of the monument, the possibility of moving the historic structure was brought up.
At that time, I was serving as State Senator, and I threw down the legal challenge to stop that. I felt just as strongly then as I do now:
The Alamo Cenotaph should never be moved!
Now that my office owns the monument, we can ensure that the restoration effort maintains its historical authenticity - in appearance and in location!
I am committed to preserving our proud Texas history, from both natural elements, and the woke Left who would like to erase it.
