San Saba County Friends of Animals (SSCFOA) is a dedicated 501(c)(3) animal rescue serving the entire county. Unlike traditional rescues, we have no physical shelter and operate solely on the generosity of our community. With only three active foster families, we are in desperate need of more foster homes to continue saving lives. Each foster is a lifeline, providing a safe space for animals awaiting adoption. Without them, many animals are left without a safe haven.
We urgently call upon compassionate community members to help by adopting or spreading the word about our animals in need. With our volunteers balancing full-time jobs while dedicating their free time to SSCFOA, we are in desperate need of more people to step up, share our mission, and provide forever homes for these deserving animals.
In addition to the volunteer shortage, we face financial struggles, operating without city or county funding. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward rescuing animals and sustaining vital programs like our Spay and Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for feral cats. Our adoption fees of $50 for cats and $100 for dogs barely cover medical costs, so donor support is crucial. Please, help us continue our work by volunteering or donating today—our mission and the animals of San Saba County depend on it.
Puppy Pandemonium!
In happier news, SSCFOA has welcomed 11 adorable bull terrier mix puppies—just shy of 12 Dalmatians! Each puppy comes with its own unique personality, ranging from the sweet and shy to the playful and mischievous. They are a lively handful, keeping their foster family on their toes. These pups are in need of loving homes, and we can promise they will bring joy and energy to any family. Don’t miss your chance to adopt one of these delightful pups!
