While a long day discussing/hearing testimony of a horrible disaster, it was a privilege to speak to the Congressional Committee on Disaster Preparedness in Kerrville yesterday. It is an honor to speak on the quality of our Emergency Management team and our amazing community. I also was able to express concerns about the roadblocks many in our community are facing in rebuilding. It is my hope that this was not just an experience, but that it will lead to substantive change for our state in the long run as well as some assistance to allow us to rebuild now.
Being on a panel with Judges Brandon Corbin, Menard County, Frank Trull, McCulloch County, Sheree Hardin, Mason County, and Lane Carter, Tom Green County, all Judges whom I respect and know how much they care about their communities, was an honor.

It was a privilege to speak about the amazing response from our community in this disaster, about ideas that could assist other counties in the future, and share concerns and needs for our county and it's citizens to a panel of 20 Texas Senators and Representatives.
