It was reported to the news office that the entire town of Richland Springs was out of power Wednesday morning - businesses, stores, homes, school.
We were unable to deliver newspapers to Coyote One Stop at the regular time this Wednesday. They were closed due to having no power. However, their power was restored around 11:15, and they opened for business. They now have copies of this week's edition of the San Saba News & Star!
At 2:57 a.m., the news office received the following note from FindEnergy.com:

Approximately 8:30 a.m., the City of San Saba posted the following:
Special Announcement from the City of San Saba -
Due to last night’s heavy rains and thunderstorms, the Splash Pad will be closed until 1:00 p.m.
We thank you for your patience and support.
But good news! They updated the information around 2:30 p.m. that same day with this message:
The Splash Pad has reopened.
We thank you for your patience and support.

Seen here is the Stan Weik Memorial Splash Pad being enjoyed by many during the Memorial Day weekend.
Wednesday morning, one San Saba resident said they were awakened by the storm around 1 a.m. and were finally able to go back to sleep at 3 a.m. They heard a lot of very loud thunder and said it rained and rained; they received 2.5 inches in just two hours.
To end on a good note – we sure needed the rain! The ground, animals, ranchers, and farmers are happy. And there is no burn ban!
We pray to God when we need rain. Let us remember to thank Him when He sends it!
