Very high fire danger is expected in the identified areas. Forecast critical Fire weather conditions with increased wind speeds of 15 mph or more and Triple-digit temperatures will align with very dry grass vegetation that may Result in fires that are difficult to control. Roadside starts are a major cause of wildfires this summer. As local and state Law enforcement, you can help protect Texans with the following information: Avoid parking, driving or idling in dry grass.
Watch for vehicles pulling trailers/boats with tow chains or other metal Striking the road. Aid the motorists in correcting the issue. Inspect roadside vegetation for ignitions following traffic stops, minor Collisions, tire blow outs, etc. All responders and emergency planners should plan to react accordingly with Operational planning.
