Hill Country CattleWomen to hold monthly meeting April 20th

The Hill Country Cattlewomen’s monthly meeting is scheduled on April 20th at the Doss General Store at 10:30 a.m. Members Teresa Ganis and Dianne Staudt have graciously organized the event. The social hour will begin at 10:30 a.m. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be Beth McMahon, Gillespie Co.

Your Texas Agriculture Minute

The issue of agricultural labor is making headlines again. The U.S. House recently passed the Farm Workforce Modernization Act. It’s only the second time since 1986 that the House has approved an agriculture immigration reform bill. The bill’s prospects in the U.S. Senate remain unclear.

The Empty Tomb

A favorite part of our trip to Israel several years ago was visiting the garden tomb. The tomb is located near what is traditionally thought to be Calvary.

Doug’s Doorstep

While watching some of the Men’s college basketball tournament, I heard a comment that struck me as a little off. One of the players had walked to the free throw line, and the commentator said, “he never misses.” Then he went on to give his statistic of shooting 88% of his free throws.
