City Council holds regular meeting November 9th; Employee of the Month for November and December and Supervisor of the 4th Quarter presented at meeting

The San Saba City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 9th, in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Ken Jordan called the Council to order at 6:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone. Mayor Jordan gave the invocation and led everyone in the pledges to the American flag and the Texas flag.

Receipts totaled 5,896 head. The market was very active with very good demand on a choice offering of cattle. The stocker steers were $5 to $10 higher with 3 steers 367 lbs at $216.00 ($792.72), 17 steers 461 lbs at $195.00 ($898.95) and 19 steers 549 lbs at $180.00 ($988.20).

Operation Orphans, Inc. Girl’s Hunt

Operation Orphans, Inc. held the first hunt of the 2021-22 season October 30th. Homes participating were Fosters Home, Stephenville; Medina Children’s Home, Medina; Boys & Girls Country, Hockley; and Methodist Home, Waco. Eighteen girls from four children home facilities harvested 23 animals.

Texas Downtown Association announces winners of 2021 President’s Awards; Local restaurant and owner win awards

Winners of the 2021 President’s Awards Program were announced in Denton in conjunction with the Texas Downtown Conference. For over 35 years the awards program, sponsored by the Texas Downtown Association (TDA), has recognized outstanding projects, places, and people of Texas downtowns.
