DATE CHANGE: The back-to-school bash has been moved to Monday, August 28th, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday Church will start on Wednesday the 30th immediately after school. This event is open to students from Pre-K to fifth grade plus their family.

Texas receives $60M to strengthen electricity grid

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced on July 6 that the Texas Division of Emergency Management will receive $60.6 million to help utilities strengthen infrastructure on the state’s electricity grid.

Norman Pierce - Named City Supervisor of the 2nd Quarter in June 12th City Council Meeting

The City Council met at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12th. The following information was provided by Sabrina Maultsby, City Secretary. Mayor Jordan called the meeting to order, announced a quorum present, and Alderman Marcus Amthor gave the invocation and pledges.

Cherokee enjoys 4th of July Parade

Cherokee's 4th of July Parade was held at 10 a.m. so the temperature was enjoyable. A hamburger drive-thru lunch was put on by the HS Cheerleaders as a fundraiser and was conducted at the Fire Hall. CHEROKEE HAPPENINGS Summer started off with a trip to Powell, Wyoming, for Dale and me.
