We are very pleased that Charly Kronberger, who has played a major role in bringing the San Saba Reunion Sheep Dog Trial to San Saba, will take time from the Trial on Saturday evening, March 2nd, to make a presentation entitled “ What is a Dog Trial.”

Charly, was born in the inner city of Houston and lived there until she went to Texas A&M. After college, she spent her career in the Veterinary profession including small animal, equine, research, and technical sales. She retired a few years ago as a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager.

After years as a competitive barrel racer and raising their daughter in the rodeo world, she stumbled upon the working Border Collie and traded in all her tack for a shepherd’s whistle, a rope lead, a “few” Border Collies, and a flock of commercial Dorper sheep.

She and her husband settled in NW San Saba County in 2018 . . . “kinda” in the heart of Texas’ sheep dog country. They raise commercial Dorper sheep and have a little custom farm-to-table meat business in partnership with another great dog trialing buddy.

Charly’s talk, the last of three, is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. in the Honors room in the Museum.

Our celebration of Texas Independence Day begins at 4:00 p.m. There will be family friendly activities, live music, a display of art by SSHS students, new exhibits to explore and a campfire dinner. For ticket information, see the ad on Page 4 in the paper or on our website sansabamuseum.org.
