The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) is committed to ensuring veterans and their families have access to the benefits and services available to them for each chapter of their life. That’s why TVC has compiled resources for veterans ages 55 and older in one place. Additionally, those just retiring from military service should explore the full range of benefits and services they’ve earned and claim them.
TVC is launching the Lone Star Veterans Connection: Supporting Texas Veterans 55+ to assist these veterans with the new needs of their next chapter in life. This may include housing, health care, education, mental well-being, employment, starting a business, increases for disability compensation claims and even property tax exemptions.
Veterans can explore benefits and services that they have earned and get help receiving them at tvc.texas.gov/home/55Plus. The resources are available from local, state and federal agencies and organizations.
“We are determined to provide the best resources to those who have served our country. Turning the next chapter in life can be complicated, and the Lone Star Veterans Connection puts resources for veterans in one place,” said TVC Executive Director and U.S. Army veteran Tom Palladino.
TVC is dedicated to serving veterans in every chapter of life, and veterans, spouses and survivors can find additional resources on the TVC website tvc.texas.gov and on the Texas Veterans Portal with all state resources at https://veterans.portal.texas.gov/.
