Volunteer to foster the next generation of Texas historians on April 23
Texas History Day Regional Competitions are right around the corner! We have 19 regionals that take place in February and March 2022 across Texas, and, as of now, they are slated to be in-person. Each year, National History Day announces a theme. For 2021-2022, it is "Debate and Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences." Students spend the first part of the school year choosing a topic, researching, and developing a project in one of five categories (historic paper, performance, documentary, website, or exhibit). The top two entries in each category and division (Junior and Senior) move on to the state competition.
The regionals allow the students to get great feedback from the judges in order to learn what they can improve upon, which is where YOU come in! If you are interested in judging one of the Texas History Day competitions, or even the state contest in Austin on Saturday, April 23, please visit our website: <https://texashistoryday.com/ regions-coordinators/> and find the regional that is near you, click on the link with that region, create an account to register as a judge or email lisa.berg@tshaonline. org for more information!
