State Library awards $4.1 million in Grants to Texas Public Libraries

Austin, TX – The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has announced $4,107,388 in grants for libraries across the state in 2025-2026 through its Library Infrastructure Facility Improvement (LIFI) Grants. Agency commissioners awarded the grants in July to 37 libraries.

TSLAC’s LIFI Grant Program funds broadband infrastructure and facility improvements in Texas public libraries. These improvements are designed to enhance internet connectivity, improve technology infrastructure and ensure broad access to digital resources for library patrons by funding projects that enable work, education and health monitoring to support historically disadvantaged communities.

“TSLAC is proud to support the innovative work of Texas public libraries to expand services that respond to local community needs and address the state’s priorities of fostering educational and economic opportunities,” said TSLAC Director and Librarian Gloria Meraz.

“The Texas State Library and Archives Commission is thrilled to assist local libraries in delivering high-speed internet access to their communities and to foster critical digital literacy programming,” said TSLAC Chair Dr. Martha Wong.
