On January 15, 2026, at approximately 1042 hours, the San Saba Fire Department was dispatched to the 700 Block of West Pecan Street in San Saba, Texas, for a report of smoke coming from a residence. Multiple units from the San Saba Police Department responded as well.
Police units arrived at the corner of W. Pecan and N. 8th Street to find a single family house with smoke coming from the eves. The house quickly evolved to active flames throughout the structure.
San Saba City Electric De-partment, San Saba City Animal Control, Richland Springs Fire Department, and Hamilton EMS all responded to assist.
This fire is under investigation by the Texas State Fire Marshal's Office and the Investigative Unit of the San Saba Police Department.
