John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” The Bible is true!!
The Word tells us that Jesus is coming again – Matthew 24:44 “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
The Word tells us of the condition of the world when He comes again. Luke 17:2630 “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be when the Son of man is revealed.” Dangerously complacent!
It will be a condition of awful sin – 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “This know also that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;5 having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.” Sounds like the daily news!
It will be a condition of falling away from the faith. 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
The Word tells us the true attitude we must have toward His coming.
1. Be ready. See Matthew 24:44 above 2. Be watchful. Matthew 24:42 “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
3. Be Busy. John 9:4 “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”
4. Be a Witness. Acts 1:8
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost shall come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
What a soul thrilling thought to know that someday soon the Lord of Glory is coming.
Again— Coming with a shout, and with the voice of the archangel, to wake the dead and transform his living saints into the likeness of His own glorious body, and gather them to Himself in the air.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 “And so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
Are you ready? Would you be happy to be caught into His presence today?
