On September 4, 2024, during a Town Hall meeting hosted by Congressman August Pfluger, Gracen Shahan and Tegan Sartor were honored for their remarkable achievements over the past three years.
Gracen Shahan has been a dedicated student at San Saba High School for all four years of her education. She is planning to attend the University of Texas this coming fall. Gracen actively participates in her community and church, demonstrating her commitment to service. She has taken on significant leadership roles at San Saba High School, including positions in the National Honor Society, Student Council, and as Senior Class President.
Gracen's artistic talents were recognized when her work was chosen for display during the 2023 YouthArt Month at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. Additionally, she showcased her skills as a state qualifier in the Visual Art Scholastic Event. Notably, Gracen achieved the title of 2024 State Champion in Copy Editing at the UIL competition and is proud to be a member of the 2024 All-State Journalism Staff.
Tegan Sartor has been a committed student at San Saba High School for all four years. He plans to enroll in a Trade School this fall to pursue an advanced degree in welding. As a member of the San Saba FFA Chapter, Tegan utilizes his leadership abilities to assist underclassmen in developing various projects aimed at enhancing both San Saba ISD and the local community.
Over the past year, he played a crucial role in completing the awning for the agricultural barn and constructing an awardwinning trailer for the Wild Game Dinner Fundraiser. Tegan is also a certified welder. In addition to his involvement with the FFA chapter, he works at Jordan Cattle Auction in San Saba when he is not engaged in FFA activities.
