The Science Mill has put together a Fall schedule of activities that is its “busiest ever,” with several workshops, special days, and the introduction of a new exhibit.
The 2025 Fall schedule includes:
Girl Scout Day
September 20, 2025 / 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Girl Scout Badge Day will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for self-guided activities and workshops. All museum activities are open to the Girl Scouts and their families, and are included with the museum admission (except workshops). This year, thanks to the Frank K. Webb Charitable Trust, all Girl Scouts and Troop Leaders receive free admission.
Mini Makers: Float the Boat
September 25, 2025 / 9:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. (early museum opening for Mini Makers families at 9:30 a.m., event is at 10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.)
Designed for young explorers under age 5, this Mini Makers presents 45-minute sessions that begin with a themed story time followed by a related age-appropriate hands-on activity designed to stimulate minds and keep hands busy. The challenge invites participants to test everyday objects in floating boats and observe what makes them sink.
Ideal for preschoolers and their caregivers, Mini Makers is a fresh way to introduce early STEM learning in a playful, interactive way–while having family fun.
Homeschool Days
This year the monthly Homeschool Days have been condensed into three events. The Fall Homeschool Day on October 8 will be zoology themed, and serves as the kick-off for the program. The February one will be a Science Fair, and the April Home School Day will be a Career Fair.
New Exhibit: STEM Safari
This limited-time new exhibit will open in October. It is designed to allow guests to explore the world of biomimicry, where engineers borrow ideas from the animal kingdom to create new technology to address everyday problems.
