Several members of the San Saba band program have auditioned for a chair in All Region Band.
Auditioning for the Region Middle School Band on percussion were Tucker Johnson 39th chair, Landry Eudy 40th chair, and Cambree Hoyt 41st chair out of 56.
Auditioning on Tuba was Adan Huerta, 20th chair out of 26. Maklyn Haynes placed 18th out of 25 Alto Saxes.
There were 20 horns who auditioned. Josselin Rojas finished 18th. Making the region band were Atleigh Hunt 14th chair and Ximena Cuevas 9th chair.
Daniella Baez earned 9th chair flute out of 45.
We had 10 students audition for the high school region band. In high school, the students who audition are trying for a chance to make the All State Band.
Auditioning on flute were MJ Cantu 43rd chair and Jessica Nguyen 13th chair out of 52.
Virginia Diaz earned 39th chair on the B-flat clarinet out of 71. Natalie Cuevas earned 2nd chair on the Alto Clarinet advancing to the Area contest.
Jose Aguilera Valdez placed 23rd chair out of 41 on the Alto Saxophone.
There were a total of 61 Trumpets who auditioned. Ethan Kilman placed 39th, Karol Guerrero placed 35th, and making the region band and advancing to the Area round was Everett Eidson who earned 14th chair.
Julia Smith earned 18th chair advancing her to Area and securing her a chair in the Region band on French Horn. And John Ham earned 12th chair in the region band and advanced to the area round out 24 tubas.
The students who earned a seat in the region band will be participating in a clinic and performing a concert in January. High school students who advanced to the area round will audition to make the all state band on January 7th in Waco. We wish them the very best and congratulate all students who auditioned. Their efforts help secure a bright future for the San Saba Band Program.
