San Saba Golden Armadillo Band earns superior rating

The San Saba Golden Armadillo Band has been busy over the past few weeks. The band competed at the Hill Country Marching Festival in Fredericksburg on September 30th. They finished 3rd at that contest in Class 2A behind Mason and Harper. On October 7th, the band traveled to San Angelo to participate in the Concho Classic Marching Festival finishing 2nd in Class 2A and winning outstanding Colorguard and a 1st Division Rating. The band then traveled to Abilene to participate in the Big Country Marching Contest. The band earned a 1st Division Rating and made the Finals finishing 4th overall in 1A-5A and 2nd overall in 1A-3A.

The previous competitions helped prepare the band for the UIL Region 32 Marching Contest this past weekend in Burnet where they earned a Division 1 Superior Rating from all three judges advancing them to the area level contest. The area contest will be held at Leopard Field in Lorena, Texas, on Saturday, October 21st, and will be a double elimination contest. The top four bands will advance to the UIL State Marching Contest. The band's 2023 UIL program is titled “The Samurai and The Maiden.'
