September's Yard of the month goes to Mike and Linda Allen who live on 1206 West Dry Street. They have lived in theirresidence for 23 years and absolutely love it.
The first thing that captures your eye is the massive Pride of Barbados in the front left comer of the yard. Its vibrant colors mesmerize anyone who passes by. The Esperanza and bougainvilleas sitting next to the Pride of Barbados also make the yard come alive with color. The Yellows and Magentas that these beautiful plants exude are almost overwhelming, but in a good way!
Mrs. Allen, withpride, speaks of her husband as being one who loves tending and caring for their front yard. He has a consistent watering schedule and fertilizes his yard weekly. Mr. Allen also loves to start new plants from the ones he has in his yard. He has a knack for doing this with ease. Mr. Allen has beautiful red cannas, coleus, begonias that line the front sides ofthe house. Potato vines, airplane plants, and Ivy's are seen as you walk up to the front porch in a lovely display!
Don't hesitate to drive by and catch a glimpse of this month's Yard of the Month. You will not be disappointed.
