Body

San Saba Elementary held its 2nd Annual Spelling Bee on Thursday, January 18th. There were 35 contestants in all ranging from 2nd grade to 4th grade, double the contestants that entered last year!

The contest was full of great sportsmanship among the contestants as they hi-fived each other after every correct response and the pats on the back when they answered incorrectly. The contest became intense as the last two contestants went back and forth until there was only one, Wyatt Ward.

Wyatt, a 4th grader, will represent San Saba Elementary at the Regional Bee held in San Angelo on February 10th. Winner of the Regional Bee is invited to represent their region at the National Scripps Spelling Bee held in Washington, D. C.

Wyatt is the son of Michael and Sabra Ward. We know that he will represent San Saba well, and we wish him the best of luck!
