San Saba Dilloettes continue tradition

The San Saba Dilloettes Drill Team has been a tradition at San Saba High School since 1958-59 according to Mikie Bishop who served as the drill team’s sponsor from 1975-78 and again from 1986-1994. The Dilloettes are known for their half time and pep rally performances of the can-can routine, military drill maneuvers and high kicks, as well as dancing with props and performing stunts. This coming fall, the Dilloettes will celebrate their 65th Anniversary at the Homecoming Football game on September 13th, 2024, at Rogan Field. On Saturday, September 14th, the Dilloette Alumni Association has plans for a morning brunch for all current and former Dilloettes.

This past May, Skylar Lewis, SSHS Class of 2024, was presented the Dilloette Alumni Scholarship. Skylar plans to attend Angelo State University and major in nursing. The Dilloette Tradition was displayed at graduation when this high school senior was joined by some family members for a photo.
