San Saba County Sheriff's Office Update

Exciting things are happening in the San Saba County Sheriff’s Office. Recently, Los Valles Ranch in Cherokee donated a 2013 Polaris Ranger to improve our community’s safety at events and emergency response in situations with limited traveling capabilities.

In addition to the recent passing of Texas Senate Bill 22, that provides $250K to rural law enforcement departments, we are utilizing a federal grant to hire an additional Mental Health Deputy for our team.

We are also working on upgrading our current reporting and radio systems to improve our ability to serve our community more effectively.

I would also like to reassure our community that myself (Sheriff David Jenkins) and our other local law enforcement agencies are working to tackle the drug problem that is impacting our community. I am proud to announce that we will be adding a narcotic and compliance trained K9 deputy to our team soon.

Keep an eye on our Facebook for more information on these improvements and more.

I would also like to assure the numerous community members that have reached out, that I am seeking re-election as your San Saba County Sheriff in the up-coming local elections in 2024. I am looking forward to many more years of serving my community and leading our team as it strives to serve our community better.
