July 2, 2020, was our first face-to-face meeting since March. We met at the San Saba Golf Course covered picnic area. We started our new Rotary year with a new slate of officers: President, Janet Hoyt; President Elect, Jacqueline Carlson; Secretary, Beth Griess; Treasurer, Kevin Shahan; Sargent At Arms, Tom Griess; Past President, Bill Phillipotts. Dr. Jerry Blankenship received his Paul Harris Fellowship +1. Side note: Paul Harris was a founder of Rotary. Mark Smith received the Rotarian of the Year Award, but Tom Griess stood in for him because he had prior commitments. Bill Phillpotts was given an award for Past President. Mike Thomas conducted the installations acting as the Assistant District Governor. The club presented to Albert and Kay Stowell the Four Way Test Award. This award was presented to them for all they have done and are doing for our community.

We will have our next meeting at the golf course and will have Larry Sanderson as our program. He will share with us about the book he has written and maybe some of his poetry. Everyone is invited to join us and learn more about Rotary and the many things we do in and for our community and the world.
