The Richland Springs Report

It is proving a little difficult to get the column out this week. So far, the photos I’ve tried to send are not moving, the emails are stuck in the outbox, and even my text messages are staying with me. I sincerely hope this will get to Newspaper.

I’m having a quiet but refreshing visit. This is the rainy season, and I wish I could send at least five inches of the many inches I’ve enjoyed this past week. The weather was kind to Earnie and me yesterday. We went to the Marriot El Sueno hotel and swam in their magnificent pool complex while Shane golfed. The sun hid behind the clouds just enough to lower the heat index and stop us from baking.

I am heading home Tuesday, but I may not get to the house until later in the week. Russ just told me his eldest sister is not doing well and hospice has been called. Bobbie spent her younger years in Richland Springs in the old farm house. She will be buried beside her husband in Richland.

Don’t forget the Back-To-School Bash has been moved to Monday the 28th of August. Backpacks have been collected, so, if you need a cute backpack, please let Mrs. Wyatt know before you spend your hard-earned money. She will let you pick one out.

I’m heading out for another delicious Costa Rican meal. The fresh fish here defies description. I am not a fish person, but I love the flavor here. The side dishes are unique as well. I am interested in speaking with the couple who travelled down with me. I gave them a few pointers and favorite foods to try. Hopefully, I gave them good information.

Please remember to pray for our sick, protect our elderly during the heat, and pray diligently for rain. Lord, please be with our country and most of all protect our troops and their families. See you all soon.
