Notice of appraised values mailed

Body

In these difficult times where everything is subject to change on a daily basis, we want you to know we are sympathetic to the current economic situation we all find ourselves in. However, the Texas Property Tax Code requires the appraisal district to appraise all property at its market value as of January 1 of each year.

It is vital that our values are representative of that January 1 value because school funding may be reduced if the Comptroller’s Property Tax Assistance Division determines that the appraised values in any school district fall outside of their tested confidence interval.

FOR YOUR SAFETY AS WELL AS OURS, OUR DOORS WILL REMAIN CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, AND NO “INPERSON” DISCUSSIONS WILL BE HELD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

We realize you want explanations for any changes in your proposed appraised value, and we want to provide those explanations. You may contact the San Saba Central Appraisal District to discuss your proposed values by:

• Phone at 325-372-5031

• Email at sansabacad@ gmail.com

• Fax at 325-372-3325

• Leave information in drop box

• Mail to 601 W. Wallace, San Saba, Texas 76877

The Chief Appraiser, Jan Vanderburg, or the Field Appraiser, Derrick Wolf, will contact you as soon as possible.

You may review your account information along with notifications on our website: <sansabacad.org>.

If you choose to protest, protest forms, including any information that would be helpful to resolve the case, may be delivered to the office by one of the choices above. Please remember to include a phone number and/ or email address on the protest form, as this is how the staff will contact you.

Historically, there have been a significant number of individuals who drop off their protest at our location on the protest deadline. THIS IS BEING DISCOURAGED. Also, if you wish to retain a copy of your protest form, please make a copy prior to filing your protest as our staff WILL NOT be providing copies of protest forms or notices this year. PROTEST ARE CONSIDERED TIMELY IF THEY ARE POSTMARKED PRIOR TO MIDNIGHT ON THE PROTEST DEADLINE, SO THERE IS NO NEED TO HAND DELIVER THE FORM.

With regard to Appraisal Review Board hearings, phone hearings will be available if necessary. More information regarding the phone hearings will be available at a later date.
