“For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:12 ESV Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and his spilling of the blood and his payment for your sin satisfied and pacified the wrath of God against your sin so fully and so convincingly, that God went, “Hmm, I’d don’t even remember their sin.” That’s how powerful the payment of Jesus on the cross was. And yet, we still think we are not forgiven of all our sin.
Notice what is says, “For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins…” Past sins, but not their sins present and future. Is that what it says? No. It’s all of your sin. Past. Present. And Future. “I will remember your sin no more.”
If we just adopted that last line, would our lives look different? God does not remember my sin. He doesn’t have a white board where He is adding up tallies. He does not have a pile of files with all of Hod’s sins (my sins), which believe me, they would be plenty. He remembers our sin no more.
