Chairman of the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) and Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced that Next Gen Warrior, a show formed to promote the personal and professional growth of Veterans is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) initiative to produce a threepart podcast series addressing critical issues in the military and Veterans community. The conversations will cover military spouse entrepreneurship, wellness in the workplace, and service after service.

Through this partnership, Veterans will continue to be reminded of their impact on the community and their country beyond the battlefield, and those in the Armed Forces will learn about the valuable resources and benefits available to them to assist in their transition to civilian life.

“The impact our Veterans have on our communities lasts well after their service,” said Commissioner George P. Bush. “Military members continue to serve as strong leaders throughout their lives. As a Veteran myself, I have made it a priority to raise awareness to the struggles Veterans encounter upon entering civilian life. This partnership with Hiring Our Heroes helps bring even more resources to Texas Veterans and gives insight into how Veterans can continue serving after their time in the military has ended."

Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative to help Veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private and nonprofit sectors, Hiring Our Heroes has helped hundreds of thousands of Veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment through more than 1,100 job fairs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and on military installations overseas; a suite of free online career-based resources; and the Hiring 500,000 Heroes campaign; and the Hiring 100,000 Military Spouses campaign.

“We are thrilled to be partnering in this podcast series with Next Gen Warrior,” said Eric Eversole, President of Hiring Our Heroes. “Shedding light on all of the resources that are available to our nation’s finest is crucial. It allows them to bridge the civilian-military divide and helps in the effort to create economic opportunity and a strong and diversified workforce.”
