San Saba Independent School District recently decided on a name for its new tennis complex after longtime former head coach Ralph Cox.

The big announcement was made on Monday, May 17, during the annual San Saba High School all-sports banquet with the new tennis courts being named the Ralph Cox Tennis Complex.

According to the San Saba Tennis Association, Cox was at the helm of the San Saba tennis program from 1982 until 2017 and coached the Dillos and Lady Dillos in that span to two individual state championships, four state runner-ups, 32 state qualifiers, 110 district champions, 228 regional qualifiers, 29 team championships, and 14 student-athletes to move on to collegiate level.

Cox was inducted into the Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame back in December 2017 and also coached at Lubbock Estacado High School and Pecos High School.
