The Llano Country Opry will be held at the Lantex Theater in downtown Llano, Texas, on Saturday, June 13, at 2:30 p.m. Bode Barker will headline the monthly show, and admission is $15.00. Tickets are on sale in advance at www.heartoftexascountry. com or by calling (325) 247-5354.

Country-Pop may rule the charts, but Bode Barker has remained grounded in his country roots. His latest CD “One Day Closer” is a heartfelt project that showcases Barker's country roots, as well as his song writing skills.

Barker's musical abilities on keyboard, guitar, and drums, combined with his extensive knowledge of traditional country music make him a highly sought after addition to country concerts and dances throughout Texas. Barker serves as the keyboard player for all The Llano Country Opry Shows held in The Lantex Theatre in Llano, Texas.

This small-town Texas boy is as diverse as he is talented, and while his musical core remains within the TruCountry style, he has a few surprises up his sleeve.

“I am definitely hardcore Country,” Barker recently said. “But playing as many different engagements throughout the last twenty years has allowed me to appreciate different forms of music as well. I am certainly looking forward to headlining the Llano Country Opry.”

Barker will be highlighting his show by honoring many of his heroes that have appeared at the Llano Country Opry including Jimmy Dickens, Darrell McCall, Johnny Bush, Bobby Bare and many others. He is even including some stories about how those artists and songs have personally effected his desire to perform.

Barker also performs with Eddie Shell and the Not Guilties at the Cadillac Dancehall in Marble Falls. This is the "Best Little Dancehall in Texas." This group entertains with a large repertoire offering country, Rock 'n Roll, a little blues and R & B, and even a few Eddie Shell originals.

Barker also has a spiritual aspect, and an adventurous side to his music, overlapping into other genres. He also stays busy with Mixed Blood, a duo that Barker and the Sax Man, Elliott Fikes, formed. The two have launched Mixed Blood Ministry, offering Worship music in churches, Gospel Festivals, and various Christian venues. Their desire is to use the talents the Lord has blessed them with, and Glorify our Lord and Savior with worship through music.

Barker has also been featured on the popular RFD Television series, TruCountry. He has been featured as a vocalist and a keyboard player as well.

“Bode is one of our most popular aspects of the Llano Country Opry,” Opry MC Tracy Pitcox said. “He is always ready to deliver some fine country music to our fan base. His performance this month at the Llano Country Opry will be very pleasing to his old and new fans alike. It will be a great show filled with wonderful music.”

Barker is a busy, working musician and a “class act” - one you do not want to miss.

Other entertainers on the show will include Kaye Tolson, Donnie Jung, Benny Fred Kothmann, Buck Martin, Greg Longhennig and Shane Lively. Tracy Pitcox will MC the show.
