Lenny's Life Lessons

Hello, dearest San Saba loves! Why do I feel like I should be writing this column wearing a swim mask? Hm, could it be because the skies have tried to turn us into Lake San Saba? The other morning, I could wait no longer to empty my bladder, but when mom took me out, it was pouring buckets. The yard was flooded, so I lifted my dachshund leg on the porch railing, and immediately went back inside where it was warm and dry! There is nothing stupid about this dachshund!

I have a bone to pick with mom. She tells me I eat my food so quickly I do not even realize I have had a meal and therefore ask for another almost immediately after. It is my contention, a person who wouldn’t know a meal if it was sitting in front of her, has no idea the pace at which one should be consumed! Mom thinks a meal is a bite of cracker and a bite of cheese! Geez, I would be emaciated in a week!

We have been watching NCIS. It is a show that combines, murder, law, computers, investigation, humor, and psychology… things mom finds fascinating and things that bore me to tears! She watches, and I irritate her while she does.

I sure hope all the moms out there had a lovely Mother’s Day on Sunday. Mandy brought mom a lovely potted plant and spent time with her. Family is sometimes closer when it is chosen, and Mandy is sure proof of that!

This week, I get to meet my Aunt Kathie from California, and I am really excited. She will be here Thursday, and I know mom is looking forward to seeing her too. I hope each of you have the most wonderful week. We will be thinking about you, loving you, and rooting for your every happiness! We love you to chicken bits!
