Lenny's Life Lessons

Hello San Saba loves! Lenny the loving dachshund speaking to you not just from mine and mom’s heart, but the actual heart of San Saba!! It did not take me but minutes to understand why mom wanted to come here! This beautiful little town wraps itself around you in a welcoming hug the moment you enter the city limits!

I found mom when she was living in the other place called home, but in the almost two years I spent with her there, even though there were thousands of people enclosed with us in a gated community, never were people so sincerely happy to see us or took the time to knock on our door! We have lived here two days, and I already met Lolli Bagby Hamrick, Mandy’s friend, Marissa, and Marsha McHorse Hardy! Mom got hugs in the grocery store…oh dear goodness!

Okay, so there were a few bumps, but hey, I survived running the streets of Georgia alone, and mom, well the woman has survived more than any of you can fathom. Our tiny house turned out to be a tiny two-room house, and we brought way too much stuff with us so a storage unit had to be procured. Mom went from two huge walk-in closets, three other regular closets, two bathrooms and a kitchen with tons of cabinets, plus a pantry to pretty much a tiny alcove and no cabinets. But a home is never the space but the place! Thank you Javier Baez for our new home!

I absolutely can’t wait to get in my stroller and meander down the sidewalks, meet friends I have yet to meet! While I have talked to you before via words, I will now have words to write about San Saba as my home! I loved each of you because of how mom spoke about you; now I will love you because you actually touched MY heart! We love you to chicken bits, San Saba!
