Lenny's Life Lessons

Okay, my San Saba loves, I admit I came from meager beginnings. I was found running the streets of Georgia, alone, flea and tick covered, with matted hair and in bad shape! Caring, loving humans took me in, saw my heart, and instantly recognized I belonged with a Texas heart! I was driven to the Houston area to live with my amazing servant and dad!

This past week, my dad became even more ill than he already was, and my servant had to call 911. When my dad returned home and my servant unpacked his belongs from UTMB, she found a driver’s license, a slew of medication, and a cell phone that did not belong to daddy! I heard her yell HIPPA and thought she had fallen or a zoo animal had escaped! My servant assured me she was okay and no wild animals were marauding through our house, but people may well be stuck on stupid and not be doing their job!

Now, I mean no offense, my darling San Saba loves, but why was my servant surprised? I am a dachshund that lives in a world where humans walk into places and kill each other because they are upset about life, have something they want, are not the right color, or in the wrong place at the wrong time! Dogs value every thing, every smell, every second! If we are lucky enough to find a family to love us, feed us, give us belly rubs, walk us, we will defend them to the death, ours, not theirs!

What I am saying here is perhaps education is not just in schools but in life itself. Maybe humans can look beyond their own scope of vision, and those things they look down on, realize are actually elevated in stature when it comes to loving, caring, and honest emotion! I love you to chicken bits! LLB
