The San Saba High School girls varsity basketball team placed third over the weekend in the Marble Falls High School tournament against some very stiff competition of mostly 5A and 6A schools in attendance for the three-day tourney.

After the Lady Dillos cruised to a 63-38 victory over San Antonio O’Connor High School in the first round, San Saba went up against an extremely talented Mansfield Summit High School team and lost 71-41.

However, the Lady Dillos bounced right back and knocked off Copperas Cove 56-40. Al-though San Saba lost a close 52-46 game to 6A San Marcos High School, the Lady Dillos capped off a successful weekend in Marble Falls in the third-place game as they rallied from 10 points down to defeat Hutto High School by a score of 59-49 on Saturday.

Following the Lady Dillos’ home game vs. Hamilton High School on Tuesday, San Saba will travel at 6:30 p.m. on November 30 to take on Menard High School.

As for the Dillos boys varsity basketball squad, San Saba opened its 2021 season on November 19 with a very close 33-28 contest at home to Winters High School. After the Dillos also play Hamilton at home this Tuesday afternoon, the boys will have one week off before traveling on November 30 to take on Menard and then competing on December 2-4 in the Lometa High School Tournament.
