Alice Anderson, of Boerne, was awarded the 2019-2020 Cattle-Woman of the Year award at the October 2020 meeting of the Hill Country CattleWomen held at the Haverlah Ranch near Cherokee in San Saba County. Alice is the current 3rd Vice President / Membership Chair for the organization and has gone above and beyond to instill a positive atmosphere and to motivate members even during the current difficult times. She has been a member of the HCCW for five years.

Carolyn Lang, also of Boerne, won the Behind the Scenes Cattle-Woman at the meeting. Carolyn is the current treasurer and has been a member of the HCCW for six years.

Both ladies are committed to providing information about highly nutritious BEEF to consumers as well as working hard to support the Hill Country communities by participating in HCCW fundraising efforts in order to enable the HCCW the opportunity to provide scholarships and the ability to gift BEEF to food pantries, Veteran’s organizations, and youth facilities. Both ladies were presented with a sterling silver HCCW pendant and flowers.

Also during the meeting, Kitty-Sue Quinn, President of the HCCW, Fredericksburg; Teri Stone, 1st VP, Media Relations, Fredonia; Betty Leifeste, Kerrville; Claire Honsalek, Chaplain, Comfort; Janet Zintgraff, Ways N’ Means, Fredericksburg; Beverly Baker, Mason; Paulette Keller, 4th VP Beef Promotion, Mason; Amy Guinn, Mason; and Linda Rubino, Recording Secretary, Kerrville, were presented with the 100 % attendance award and a small gift.

Beverly Baker won the early membership renewal drawing for the Consuela tote drawn by Angie Daughtery of Mason.

The Hill Country CattleWomen’s membership covers 14 counties in the beautiful Texas Hill Country including Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Real and San Saba.

New members are welcome, and you are encouraged to become a member by contacting our 3rd Vice President/Membership Chair, Alice Anderson, at elmaxranch@gmail.com or 830-446-9691. A member need only have an interest in promoting BEEF products and informing BEEF consumers of the “Power Of Protein” in a healthy diet.

HCCW meet eight times each year in different areas of the Hill Country. They do not meet in the months of July, August, November and December. The annual Spring Event/Fundraiser will be April 24, 2021. The next monthly meeting will be January 19, 2021, in Fredericksburg. Location to be determined.
