High School Students: Apply now to win trip to Washington DC

is offering three lucky high school students the opportunity to experience the nation’s capital through the Government-in-Action Youth Tour Contest. Explore historic landmarks, meet influential leaders, and immerse yourself in the heart of U.S. history. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2025, so don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime chance!

Who Can Apply?

This contest is open to high school students who will have completed their sophomore year by May 2025.

Why You Should Apply 

 Winners of the Youth Tour will embark on a week-long journey packed with incredible experiences. Highlights include visits to the Washington National Cathedral, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian museums, and more. You'll also enjoy unique activities like a performance at the Kennedy Center, a dinner and dancing boat cruise, and the chance to meet elected officials. The tour runs from June 15 to June 22, 2025, and participants will join other teens from across Texas for the experience.

What’s Included?

CTEC covers all expenses for the three winners, excluding personal items like souvenirs. Chaperones will be provided, and transportation to and from Austin can also be arranged by CTEC.

How to Enter

To participate, complete the online form at ctec.coop and submit a short essay explaining why you deserve to go on this amazing trip. You can also drop off your entry at any CTEC office. A panel of impartial judges will review the submissions, and finalists will be interviewed for the final selection of the three winners.

• Submission Deadline: Friday, January 31, 2025, by 5 p.m.

• Tour Dates: June 15 – June 22, 2025
