The Golden Armadillo Band traveled to Tolar over the weekend to perform in the Rattler Marching Festival.
The band received many compliments from the judges on the marching and playing of their UIL Show “reIMAGINEd.”
“Great solo work around all of the soloist and the front ensemble had some great mallet work,” was a comment by Dr. David Robinson, Tarleton State University director of bands.
“Great tones throughout the band…go for a bit more Loud on the louds by encouraging everyone to play in those spots,” stated by Jack Wilds, composer with FJH Music.
Joe McGee, former director of bands for Burleson ISD, said “Great upper body posture; super horn carriage; super guard efforts in the wind.”
The band had a 4th place finish in prelims and finished 6th overall in open class.
The band will be marching in the UIL region contest in Burnet on Saturday, October 16th, at 10:45. Ticket sales will be online again this year. Tickets will be $8 per person, preschool-age kids will be free.
