Three days of FREE Covid-19 testing will be available in December. Dr. Whiting will be working with Marsha Hardy and the City of San Saba to set up a testing site at the Civic Center from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, the 10th & 17th, and 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday the 16th. It will be as before with the ability to drive up and be tested inside your vehicle. We can perform up to 30 tests each day. It is the rapid test which is not quite as accurate as the PCR test but results are available with ½ hour. The sample is collected from the nose, the probe does not go as deep the nasopharyngeal swab that is often uncomfortable. There is no cost to the person being tested. Results can be communicated by phone and a written result can be mailed to the patient if one is needed.
We hope to be able to offer more frequent testing in the near future.
I will let you know more about the logistics as we develop them, such as specific instructions to people coming for testing.
