Organist Sabrina Adrian joined By Cellist Daughter
Works by Bach, Vivaldi and Buxtehude, among others, will be performed here Sunday, Feb. 16, by organist Dr. Sabrina Adrian who will be joined in selected pieces by her daughter – cellist Audrey Jellett -- for a program hosted by the Fredericksburg Music Club.
Seating for the 3 p.m. program in the sanctuary of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 North Llano -- the FMC’s fifth concert in its 2024-2025 eight- concert season -- will begin at 2:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. The performance is free, although goodwill offerings are welcome.
Dr. Sabrina Adrian
Dr. Sabrina Adrian began her musical studies on the piano at seven in Boerne. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Southwestern University before earning a master’s degree in both organ and piano performance at the University of Texas, San Antonio and then a Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance Degree at The University of Texas, Austin.
Adrian has performed throughout Europe, including St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican in Rome, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Christ Church in Dublin, St. Michael's Church in Budapest, Hungary, the Marienkirche (the oldest church in Berlin), and in France at the Cathedral Saint-Sacerdos in Sarlat-la-Caneda on an organ built in 1752.
She has played with orchestras and chamber groups, including the Colorado Springs Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic, Greeley Philharmonic and Cheyenne Symphony.
After serving as organist for Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Boerne, Austin and San Antonio, she now is the organist for First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville.
Audrey Jellett
Cellist Audrey Jellett has performed with the National Youth Orchestra-USA, Texas All-State Philharmonic, World Youth Symphony Orchestra and with the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra on tour at New World Center.
An avid chamber musician who began her musical studies at age three, Jellett was selected as a young artist performer for Cactus Pear Music Festival and is an early member of the Opus Four String Quartet which performs throughout the Texas Hill Country for private events, pre-concert lectures and school outreach concerts.
She has attended two summers at Interlochen Arts Camp as well as l’Académie Orford Musique and the Meadowmount School of Music and has continued her studies at Interlochen Arts Academy and performed as principal cellist with the Arts Academy Orchestra on NPR’s “From the Top”. At Interlochen, she graduated with academic honors and received a fine arts award. Now in her fourth year at the Manhattan School of Music, she enjoys freelancing in the city at such venues as the Morgan Library and Carnegie Hall.
In addition to freewill offerings given at the door Feb. 16, that afternoon’s performance is also being partially funded by donations from members of the Fredericksburg Music Club.
At the afternoon concert, membership cards for individuals or corporate sponsors wishing to join the Fredericksburg Music Club will also be available at the door.
